On behalf of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated, we would like to thank you for visiting our site. We proudly invite you to indulge in the rich legacy that the NPHC and its nine historically African-American, historically significant fraternities and sororities have established both internationally and locally to UCLA and the surrounding Los Angeles Community since 1923, even before the NPHC's inception.

Message from the President :

Hello, Bruins, families, and friends! On behalf of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) it is my pleasure to welcome you all to enjoy our community here at the University of California, Los Angeles. I am Rakeidra Davis-Hudson, the 2016-2017 NPHC President for this campus and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Pi Chapter. NPHC is a collaborative organization comprised of the nine historically Black Greek lettered fraternities and sororities, commonly referred to as the "Divine 9".

Individual organizations were founded in the early 1900’s  when this country was in both a racial and political turmoil.  To combat these issues, NPHC was founded in 1930 on the campus of Howard University with the purpose and mission of achieving “Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations.” Since its foundation, NPHC has continued to provide a voice for the African-American community.

Here at UCLA, our council works to provide a platform and place of community, primarily but not limited to, the Black Bruin Community. Through our council-wide and individual events, we strive to educate our community and provide places for our peers to come together. I encourage you all to partake in the MANY service opportunity the Black Greek Lettered Organizations here on campus hosts, and to take advantage of the investment we have on your success. See you soon!
